Do You Have These Character Strengths?
Good character is a quality everyone values, whether they are looking for friends, employees, or partners. It refers to the positive traits that individuals possess, traits that reflect their virtues and positive aspects rather than their flaws.
Character is defined by the dictionary as a person’s overall characteristics. We all have personalities, some good, some bad, and occasionally both depending on the circumstance.
It usually means that a person is a nice person deserving of trust, respect, and admiration when we say they have good character. However, they might not be faultless.
Therefore, when we say that a person has good character, we mean that their nature is defined by admirable attributes like honesty, courage, and compassion. Even when their activities might be risky or harmful to their well-being, people with good character typically follow moral values as their guide. In other words, they act morally even if it costs them.
Ethics and morality are demonstrated through good character. Stephen Covey, a management guru, asserts that “Our character is essentially a composite of our habits. They consistently and daily express our character since they are reliable, frequently unconscious routines.”
